ROCKDALE PRIME SAMM stud was established by the Edwards family in 2001. Intensive embryo programs over the next two years allowed the stud to achieve rapid improvement and at the 2003 Perth Royal Show, the stud's first, it took home four blue ribbons and a second place with only five sheep. The stud also exhibited the champion and reserve champion rams at that show. Since then the stud has exhibited the champion all breeds ram and champion all breeds group at the prestigious Wagin Woolorama and has continued to source new South African genetics to add to the stud's genetic base. Embryos from well known South African studs including Ricksu, Stelena, Revack and Hartman have being used within the Rockdale flock. This year, on Wednesday, September 20, the stud will hold its inaugural on-property ram and ewe sale. On offer will be 100 2005 drop rams and 50 stud ewe hoggets.
